Augustine Adams-Winters – In Thy Sight
Augustine-Adams Winters has always had a passion for creating beautiful crafts. With a degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of San Francisco, CA and Holy Spirit inspiration, she is passionate about art, sewing, crafts and writing.
“I give all entire honor and the highest praise to our LORD and Savior, JESUS CHRIST and the Holy Spirit that’s with me always”. I have years of experience and a passion for expressing my love for God through drawing, sewing, crafts, and writing. I know God has called me to do this and, He has well equipped me to do it with excellence.
The first gift I would like to share is my writing. In 2015, I published the first in a series of books entitled “In Thy Sight”. My book is a result of discipline from the Lord. Proverbs 13:24 KJV teaches, “He who spares his rod hates his son.” God’s love brings discipline and sometimes He requires us to do difficult things. God will not hesitate to intervene in our lives when He sees us straying into danger. Through my research to articulate about what the Lord was speaking to me, the Lord took me on an amazing spiritual journey that took me to a higher level in my relationship with Him and in my own spiritual awareness. Written from the perspective of an individual who does not have any knowledge of worship in a church service. “In Thy Sight” provides details and understanding of the significance, and purpose of what is being demonstrated during the service.
The second gift I would like to share is my ability to make beautiful worship tools including silk flags, banners, warrior sticks, mattahs, tabrets, silk glory fans and two styles warrior-carrying bags for praise & worship. While making my crafts, the Holy Spirit continually guides my hands while downloading new ideas for me to create and share with the body of Christ. I am inspired by Psalm 89:19 KJV “Then you spoke in a vision to your holy one, and said, I have given help to one who is mighty, I have exalted one chosen from the people”.
Lastly, I want to share my gift for designing clothing from the pulpit to the pew. Sewing is my most anointed gift. Inspired by my mother, I made my first two-piece garment at age six for a PTA event. My mother was an accomplished seamstress and very active in my school. One of the last memories I have of her is coming home from school to ask her for the fabric to make the garment. I remember she had been crying and I put my hand on her shoulder and asked her, “what’s wrong mother”? She said someone had shot president Kennedy. That was the last year I spent with her, she went to heaven two weeks before my seventh birthday.
God helped me with the loss of my mother, and He has been helping me with everything that I have made since that difficult time. I see GOD’s glory and power in every piece I create. I look at the finished product each time and think “WOW” the Lord used me to create something beautiful!
