Vision of the Plumb Line
Amos 7: 7 Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. 8 And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said:
“Behold, I am setting a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.(NKJV)
Amos 7: 7 Thus He showed me, and behold, the Lord stood upon a wall with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. 8 And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumb line. Then said the Lord, Behold, I am setting a plumb line as a standard in the midst of My people Israel. I will not pass by and spare them any more [the door of mercy is shut]. Amplified Bible (AMP)
All things must line up with the truth of God’s word. It is the standard by which everything is judged in heaven, earth and under the earth. In this painting the hand of God holds the plumb line to measure Israel.
The triangle represents the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The circle that touches each point symbolizes the unity of the God Head.
As we, the people of God, align with truth, we will come into that perfect unity as the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth.
The red color is for the Blood of Christ shed in love for us that remits our sin, renders us not guilty, and grants our pardon.
