Apostle Dr. Elizabeth Amelia Hairston-McBurrows is God’s ambassador in the worship arts. Her rich gifts and talents are anointed by God and she uses them for His honor and glory. Dr. Hairston-Mc Burrows ministers prophetically and apostolically in music, dance and drama and teaches the Word of God in a relevant, simple yet revelatory and uncompromising way.
Dr. Hairston-McBurrows is a graduate of Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi where she received a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in English Literature, with a minor in Speech and Drama. As a graduate of The Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio, she received both a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Christian Education and Drama. At the doctoral level, Apostle Hairston-McBurrows earned a Doctorate of Biblical Studies Degree from International Seminary, Plymouth, Florida; and a Doctorate of Divinity Degree and a Ph. D. from Friends International University in Merced, California. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor and Faculty member of Friends International.
On August 22, 1987, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa of Benin, Nigeria, West Africa ordained Dr. Hairston-McBurrows for the Gospel Ministry. In November 1997, she was the first woman ordained to the office of Apostle under the Christian International Network by Apostolic-Bishop Dr. Bill Hamon.
Formerly an instructor of English and Religion at McCurdy Schools in Northern New Mexico, she is an author who has penned the following books: Go Forth in Dance, Housecleaning in Bethel, Gates of Freedom, Apostolic Intervention and Wonder of Worship.
In her early days of ministry, she founded The Liturgical Expressions, Inc., a body of Holy Spirit-filled believers who brought forth God’s Word through movement. She later founded the Rose of Sharon School of Liturgical Dance and the Rose of Sharon School of Prophets. Her circle of influence in dance and music includes world renowned Alvin Ailey and Marian Anderson. Presently, she serves as Founding President of The Apostolic-Prophetic Connection, Inc. (A ministry that bridges the gap between the fivefold and the arts), and is International President and Founder of Women With A Call International, Inc., with branches in the United States, South America, Caribbean Islands, Holland, West Africa, East Africa, the Philippines and India. Dr. Hairston-McBurrows holds membership with the Christian International Apostolic Network and the International Coalition of Apostles.
Her work is profound and recognitions many. Following are some key events. From 1973 to1975, she wrote three (3) four-act dramas while in Columbus, Ohio. From 2000-2004, she was filmed in commercials for the Zephyrhills water company and tourism for the Cayman Islands. In the summer of 2004, Dr. Hairston-McBurrows received a Letter of Recognition as a Global Leader by the then President of the United States, Mr. George W. Bush. In September 2007, she was appointed Ambassador to the Ivory Coast by the Autorités Consulaires do la Cȏte d’Ivoire, an affiliate of the president and government of the Ivory Coast, West Africa. In the area of education, Dr. Hairston-McBurrows received an outstanding citizen award by the State of New Mexico African American Affairs in 2011. April 2014 – August 2014 she was a TV talk show hostess filming 13 episodes (Women With A Call) UPUBLIC/Comcast. November 2014- August 2015 she hosted a radio show for All Nations Radio 60-minutes. August 2015- January 2016, she served as TV Talk Show Host with Now Television Networks. Most notably in September 2015, the Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative of the North American Division to the United Nations, New York, presented her the Golden Rule International Award. January 2016, Dr. Hairston-McBurrows was a three (3) time featured guest on Dancing Preachers Reality Show, Impact Television Network.
The Word of the Lord has been ministered by Dr. Hairston-McBurrows to presidents, prime ministers and kings in various foreign countries. She ministers richly but not exclusively in the areas of intercession, women’s issues, praise and worship, ministerial ethics and leadership training. Demands for her to minister are constant and far-reaching. Apostle Elizabeth and her husband Elder Carlton McBurrows are planting an apostolic prophetic outreach in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and travel frequently to fulfill the mandate of ministry to God’s call upon their lives.
